Travelling: Close to town of Zadar there in an airport "Zemunik", with links to Zagreb and European Cities during the summer period. From airport you'll take direction towards the port of Gazenica to catch the ferry to Preko - island of Ugljan (taxi). To reach Island of Ugljan, you could also use a boat from old Zadar port. Travelling takes around 20 min. The port of Preko is 3 miles from Sutomiscica. The transport from airport to Sutomiscica could be arranged if guest requires it. The important thing to bear in mind is that the last ferry towards the Island, is at 12 pm. The next one is at 6 am in the morning. There are around 15 ferries in a day. Fast boat service from Marina 'Olive Island' in Sutomiscica is also possible, but it has to be arranged in advance.

About: It is difficult in few words to describe the Ugljan Island. Instead, we'll provide you with the couple of links, pictures, and you judge on your own ...

Almost all of Ugljan island places have their own local beaches. They are organized, properly cleaned, and maintened. Prefered by familes with kids. There are lots of wild beaches, scattered all around the Island, some of them are shown on Google extracts. Island is covered with tiny cycling paths and roads, some of them with asfalt, some not. That makes it suitable for cycling, power walking and exploring. The old castle of Sv. Mihovil, originally built by crusadors of the 14th century while attacking the town of Zadar, is an experience worthed to see. When the weather is nice, most of Kornati archipelago is visable, and sometimes even the Italian Appenine's mountines could be seen.
Restaurants are scattered all around, most of them opened only during the summer season. Some of them are shown on the maps.
If you want to rent a bicycle or scooter, good place to look for it, is Preko.
Hiring a speed boat, for a daily trip to Zadar or to any other Island of Zadar archipelago can be arranged in Olive Island Marina - Sutomiscica. That is also a place of the most award-winning restaurant, but, in order to have a dinner, you better book in advance!
There is also a possibility to privatly hire a boat and skipper (daily trips to Kornati National Park). The guest can inquire on its own with available details (House leaflet). A trip to Kornati takes around 1.5 h, and the boat takes up to 8 people.
